When I was 16, I learned to sew. I loved it and loved the idea of selling my work. I began selling purses to friends and family (and friends of friends and friends of family and on and on...). Not long after I began doing that, I learned about Etsy. It was brand new but I opened a shop, called it Lemonade (I don't know why, I don't particularly like lemonade), and began sewing and selling.
I closed around 2010, for various reasons. Mostly because my new home didn't really have room for me to set up my sewing machine and fabric so I put it in a closet.
Fast forward to 2016, and here I am with a new name. Liz and Olive are/were two of my cats. Liz was a gorgeous, sweetheart tortie that we had to put to sleep in 2015. Olive is my Maine coon mix.
Liz and Olive still uses many of the patterns that I created for Lemonade and I still love cute, colorful fabrics.
Behind Liz and Olive is me, Megan. I'm a substitute teacher and graduate student in museum studies. That means I like old things and work that most people consider boring. I'm a certified cat lady who enjoys yoga, running, reading, and Mexican food. I'm very good at trivia and pretty good at crossword puzzles. I'm less good at things that involve mental math.
